-The Food
Among Danish famous star restaurants, NOMA, NOrdisk MAd (Nordic food), is probably the most celebrated and well known.
When it comes to street food though, there is nothing more Danish than the old fashioned hot dog, now as ever the most popular snack. The sausage itself must traditionally be red!
Home sick Danes arriving at the Copenhagen Airport may head directly, almost forgetting their luggage, to a well situated hot dog stand to ease their craving for this delicious classic. In most Danish towns you will find a hot dog stand serving various kinds of hot dogs with the traditional toppings: mustard, ketchup, remoulade, fried and chopped raw onions and slices of pickled cucumber. And - should you rather be a vegetarian - don’t worry: you can always have a ‘krasser’, i.e. a hotdog bread with all the nice toppings but without the red sausage. ENJOY!’
