In 2019, a major renovation of two of the school's toilets was carried out to make them more hygienic.
This was a great success and something we want to be done for the remaining toilets as well as the students' shower rooms. In addition, it would be fantastic to have a stock of fabric sanitary napkins in the girls' toilet. The girls get 2-4 napkins per person per year, but it is tough for them as they need to be washed and dried in-between. The napkins are manufactured locally in Masaka and cost €0.9 per piece.
The students live in dormitories and there is a need for renovation of some of the bunk beds and an estimated 75 new mattresses are needed. Considering that a lot of the younger students still wet their bed, they also need gallon covers for the new mattresses for them to stay fresh. The covers are sewn by the school staff so only the materials needs to be purchased.
